The Hunger Games

I mentioned about the book called The Hunger Games on the previous post. This time, I will write my book report and feedback about The Hunger Games. I started to read this book by the recommendation of Mr. Cornman.

The main story starts when the 74^th hunger game is going to be hold. Katniss Everdeen is 16 years old girl in the District 12. On the day of choosing children for the hunger game, Prim who is a sister of Katniss is called and Katniss volunteers for her. For the boy, Peeta Mellark who saved Katniss from the starvation when they were young is chosen. Haymitch, the previous victor from District 12 becomes their mentor and they go to the Capitol. They both survive from the game, but President Snow doesn’t like the behavior of Katniss. Therefore, he sends her to the arena one more time. Katniss breaks the will of game makers and escape the arena. She meets the hidden remaining rebel, District 13, and begins the war against the Capitol. If you want to know what happens, look at the books.

In my opinion, I think the idea of author was brilliant. The survival game that only one person can win was extremely thrilled and the background made enough sense, too. I gradually get into the book and astonished by unbelievable reverses. Also, the word choice and sentence explanations were good that I can understand what is happening easily. The story was not boring, actually very interesting. Thus, I will say this is a great book.

I like this!

There are several things that I like to do and I think reading a book is the best among them. I usually don't care about the genre of books that I read, but my favorite one is fantasy or science fiction. I can't say the reason why I love these exactly because they just attract me. 



In the world of fantasy book, I can see the things that can't happen in the real life such as other species that look similar with human like dwarf and elf, and people are fighting with swords and magic. For the science fiction, the events are based on scientific thinkings that can occur in future and they are also the imaginations. I like the way I can imagine things in my mind while I am reading books and as deeper I get into the book, I am fascinating to the story. I can choose The Hunger Games and The Lord of the Rings for the example of novels.

Another thing that I like to do is writing a novel. I was captivated by that I can create my own world, can insert my own philosophy or thinking about the world, and can tell the story as I want. Farther the story goes, I feel happy and joyful.

For these reasons, reading and writing books are my favorite hobbies.

Wonderland!

   Do you know the Wonderland in Canada? Are you thinking about the wonderful places such as Niagara Fall? No! The Wonderland is the amusement park in Toronto, Canada. The huge and fancy rides were
waiting for me!
   The first ride was the Psyclon! I sat on the chair of giant spinning disc and it floated to the air slowly. It was moving slowly at the first time and it started to rotate. Then, I was up in the 120-feet air! The shockwave went through my body and I can feel the cool air up on the sky. When I went down with facing the ground, it was extremely excited.
   Next one was the Drop Tower. It can hold 16 people in one round. We went up higher than the Psyclon did! When I inhaled the air of 230-feet sky, I was on the ground in three seconds. The falling speed is 100km/h.
   The last one was the Behemoth. It was the greatest roller coaster in the Wonderland I think. It's fastest speed is 125km/h and the angle of falling rail is 75 degree. I was very nervous when I was right behind the falling. The thrill really pierced me when I was falling.
   If you have a chance to go Canada, I strongly recommend you to go to the Wonderland!
